N2  - The proposed research seeks to investigate the conditions influencing the emergence and reproduction of transportistas (struckers) in Bolivia and their effect upon peasant productive activities in a region in the Departament of Cochabamba. A central focus of the research will  be to study the commercialization of commodities as a process consisting of three phases (production, transportation, and sale in the market) through the examination of the role played by truckers in it.
