Máscaras y culto en Tiwanaku.

En: Chachapuma. Revista de Arqueologia BolivianaResumen: En este artículo analizamos diferentes especimenes arqueológicos de origen Tiwanacota con el proposito de establecer su significado. Estudiamos especialmente aquellos que sean demominado ceramios prosopomorfos", pero también otros artefactos que puedan brindarnos una visión de conjunto respeto a la cultura que nos ocupa. Identificamos la existencia de por lo menos 3 tipos de máscaras. En el caso de las máscaras antropomorfas, analizamos el contenido iconografico del llamado "Dios de los Báculos". Respecto a esta imagen pretendemos establecer: a) que el personaje lleve una máscar; b) que esta máscara es el atributo más importante y significante de dicho personaje ; c) que, por consiguiente, la representación más simple de este personaje, es la propia máscar; d) que no necesariamente, en atención a sus atributos, se trataría de personajes distintos; e) que contiene un significado altamente religioso; f) que tuvo fuertes repercuciones en el ambito político.Resumen: In this article we analyze different kinds of Tiwanaku arttifacts, attempting to establish therr meaning. In particular, we study the so called "prosopomorphic vessels", but also other types of artifacts whinch together help us to formulate a more holistic view of the Tiwanaku culture. We identified the existence of at least 3 Types of masks. In the case of the anthropomorphic masks, we analyze the iconographic content of the so called "Staff God" motif. Concerning this particular motif we seek to establish: a) that the portrayed individual wears a mask; b) that this mask is this individual's simplest representation is this mask (separated form its wider iconographic context); d) that the different atributes connected to this individual in different cases do not necesarily point to the fact that a number of distinct individuals would have been portrayed; e) that this individual in different cases do not necessarily point to the fact that a number of distinct individuals would have been portrayed; e) that this inividual was of great religious importance; and f) that this individual also had influence in the political sphere.Existencias: 1
