| Resumen, etc. | La sociolingüística ha dado una importancia sustancial al factor del 'sexo' y la ha convertido en objeto de atención permanente. Sin embargo, se han hecho muchas afirmaciones infundadas, como el que enfrenta el habla de mujeres y hombres, calificando a la primera como conservadora, insegura, sensible, solidaria y expresiva, y a la segunda como independiente, competitiva y jerárquica. Afortunadamente, los estudios sociolingüísticos han permitido superar estas imprecisiones para dar lugar a los hechos probables y a las demostraciones solventes. Como resultado de los cambios históricos y socioculturales, tanto el hombre como la mujer comienzan a ocupar los mismos lugares y a compartir los mismos espacios sociales como la familia, la escuela, el mercado, el trabajo, etc. Esto permitió a las mujeres usar formas estándar, perdiendo el uso delicado y cortés de la mujer. La lengua pertenece tanto a hombres como a mujeres y no existen variedades exclusivas de cada sexo. Lo que sí existe es un conjunto de variaciones discursivas que actúan como marcas en el habla femenina y en la masculina y que se actualizan en textos concretos; variaciones que funcionan como estereotipo de lo que la mayoría entiende o intuye como estilos asociados al género del que habla. No debemos olvidar que las manifestaciones del habla son manifestaciones sociales, y los rasgos característicos del habla femenina y masculina han estado condicionados por el rol que cada uno jugaba, y juega, en la organización social. |

| Resumen, etc. | The sociolinguistic has given a substantial importance to factor of “sex”and has become a subject of constant attention. However, there have been many unsubstantiated claims, such as that between the speech of men and women, describing the first as conservative, insecure, sensitive, supportive and expressive, and the second as independent, competitive and hierarchical. Fortunately, sociolinguistic studies have overcome these inaccuracies to result in probable facts and solvent demonstrations. As a result of historical and socio-cultural changes, both men and women begin to occupy the same place and share the same social spaces such as the family, school, market, labor, etc. This allowed women to use standard forms, losing the delicate and polite language. The language belongs to men and women and there are no exclusive varieties of each sex. What are discursive variations that act as markings female and male speeches and updated on specific texts; variations that work as a stereotype of what most people understand or intuit as styles associated with the gender of the speaker?. We must not forget that the manifestations of speech are social events, and the characteristics of male and female speeches have been conditioned by the role each had, and have in social organization. |
