Contiene: Indigenous people have been spinning in Ecuador for Centuries. Ecuador has a venerable textile tradition, which is generally unknown because neighboring Perú usually comes to mind when pre-Hispanic textiles are discussed.Additionall, the dryness of Peru's coastal desert has resulted in the preservation of thousands of textiles and fragments, including intact mummy bundles, looms, spindles and yarn. Ecuador's coast, on the other hand, is hot and humid. Organic matter decays quickly, and Ecuador has only a fraction of the pre-Hispanic textiles found in Peru.
